Earlier today on Bungie.net, DeeJ has hired a new Community Manager. The man accepting this position is well known in the Destiny Community as Cozmo, who many probably know from the Destiny Reddit.
Cozmo is a veteran of the Bungie Community, having been part of it since the days of Halo and sporting a fairly impressive eight-year long membership on the Bungie website. DeeJ remarked in a thread on the Bungie Forums that Cozmo is "better at the game, which will be a welcome change."
DeeJ commented on how big and overwhelming the Destiny community is and how difficult it can be for him and urk to successfully manage it when they frequently get pulled behind the scenes to help inform us on future content updates. DeeJ admitted than when it comes to recognizing important feedback from the community that they "barely scratch the surface." This has been a frequent complaint within the Community, as many people argue that Bungie has done a less than adequate job since Destiny's launch in regards to listening and responding to Community feedback and concerns.
Cozmo, along with DeeJ (who is not being replaced) and urk now make up the team responsible for listening and engaging with the Community. Adding another member to the Community Management team is already a welcome change. It seems like a reassuring sign that Bungie is still committed to listening to the Community and attempting to improve the gameplay experience in ways that we would like.
DeeJ and Cozmo will be working as a team and DeeJ is already teasing that they have some "new plans" for keeping us entertained. It'll be interesting to see what they have in store!
